Cloning Shoes (by Tom)

We were up and at it early this morning. We caught the 8:05 am bus into town and got off at the dive shop. I sort of figured that the dive shop would be my best bet at finding a new set of sandals, and sure enough, for $65 I was able to replace the only pair of shoes I own, my 4 year old Teva's, with an exact clone. Weird huh?

As an aside, any shoe I can get four years out of is a quality product in my book.

Post shoe shopping, we hiked over to the Fresh Fields store so Amy could get some specialty veggies that were over priced and fairly ugly. Afterwards, we crossed back over the highway and fisnished up our shopping at the local Publix supermarket. We managed to fill up both our back packs and we still had to carry three plastic bags each.

The bus showed up on time and we struggled to get our purchases on board. I inadvertantly beaned a 90 year old on oxygen in the back of the head trying to get into my seat. I felt bad.

We got off the bus at the dinghy dock and dragged our purchases into the dinghy and then back to the big boat. By the time everything was stowed, it was 2 pm. We made Mahi tacos for lunch and then I worked on the big boat engines and Amy cleaned the head.

After our chores were done, we got invited over to a nearby boat named Bonnie Lass. I can't remember their names, but we had seen each other off and on through out the islands. We shared a glass or two of wine and exchanged stories before heading back to our boat. On the way home, we were flagged down by our Swiss friends on Kobold. The nvited us onboard for another bottle of wine and some snacks.

We hung out until 9 pm and then said our goodbyes. We are heading out in the morning and they will be here a few more days.

We returned home, broke down the dinghy, gathered the weasels and finally fell into bed around 10:30.

Man, is it just me or do things happen way too late here in the US.
