Crowd Control (by Tom)

Amy's grandmother isn't doing so great, so this morning I dropped her off at the market to pick up a 6 am taxi ride to the airport. From there she flew to Cat Island, then Nassau, then Charlotte and finally BWI where my dad will pick her up and put her in a car bound for Brooklyn, New York. While she is stateside, I'll be watching the weasels and the boat and hopefully staying out of trouble until her return.

So anyhow, once I got back to the boat, I upped anchor and moved over to the Hamburger beach and dropped the hook in 4 feet of water, just off the beach. Once the boat was put to bed I set about re-installing my newly repaired depth sounder. When it stopped working last week, I disassembled it and let everything dry out for a day. When I put it back together for no good reason at all, it started working again. Nice. I still hate you Raytheon.

I spent the remainder of the morning surfing the net and shooting aliens with a particle beam weapon. Those aliens are really fast and I have figured out that you have to lead them a pretty fair amount to compensate.

At noon I dinghied across the harbour to meet the guys and play 2 on 2 volleyball for a couple of hours. I'm not sure why, but we had about 100 people show up to watch us play. They alternately boo-ed and cheered to the point where I had to send out a few errant spikes to calm the spectators. Let's just call it cost effective crowd control.

After the ball game me and the guys hung out and had a beer under the palm trees. Around 4 pm I returned to my boat and had a quick swim to wash off the sand before starting the grill and cooking a mega-steak for dinner. Afterwords, I went up to St. Francis to play poker and I ended up coming home second to George (owner) and collecting 50 bucks.

I returned home and called it a night around midnight.
