Hello and welcome to Thanksgiving day. It is the custom in the Bahamas to celebrate any holiday, regardless of origin if it allows for partying, drinking and a day off of work, so there was plenty of activity going on today.
For me though, my day started off with re-assembling the carburetor for our crack house engine. It took a lot longer than I expected and I was beginning to have my doubts, but in the end I got it back together and re-installed. Amy and the ferrets hid inside for the test starting as they all seem to think I have a temper and will destroy things when they don't work as expected. Those of you who know me realize that is so not me, but I was pleasantly surprised when the engine started right up on the first pull.
We installed the crack engine on the dinghy and then I took it for a series of test runs through the anchorage. Twenty minutes later it was still running so I guess we'll call the engine fixed. I guess rehab might work for crack heads. Who knew?
As an aside, I used to do drugs; I still do, but I used to too. (Mitch Hedburg reference) Just kidding mom.
Anyhow, I cleaned up my tools and put everything away and then we took our crack enabled dinghy for a tour through the harbour. We ended up stopping at the Bluff House for a rum and pineapple drink, but we were the only ones there so we didn't stay. Back on the boat we stored the dinghy and then I made tequila lime Mahi steaks with a side salad for dinner.
Post dinner we watched the new Pixar movie Up. You didn't hear it from me, but Amy cried 5 different times. A quick running of the weasels and then to bed at 9 pm.
