Hanging with the Caribs (by Tom)

December 22, 2011 Lake Sylvia

This morning after breakfast, I called our friends Donna and Toby who used to sail on Cariba, but now live in town here. They were home and agreed to come pick us up at the marina around noon so we could hang out and shoot the breeze.

We spent the morning playing with the weasels and doing odd projects on the boat. Around 11 we loaded up and headed to the dinghy dock. Donna was there to meet us and she drove us to their house where we spent the afternoon sitting under the palm trees and catching up with our friends (and fixing Toby's computer problems).

Donna had to go to work around 4, so Toby drove Amy and I around town a bit in their convertable Mercedes. I tried my best to look very Miami, but Amy says I just looked like a dork. Toby took us to see some of the town and then returned us to the dinghy dock and we returned to the mothership just after sunset.

The weasels helped us put away our few purchases and then Amy made us a mega chef salad for dinner. We split a bottle of wine as we ate and then afterwards retired to our cabin to read (Amy) and blast space aliens (me).

Tomorrow we'll venture back in to town to check out the beach scene. I am hoping to spot lots of hot swim suit models in butt floss bikinis, but Amy says given the some what alternative lifestyle nature of this area, I am more likely to spot dudes wearing the aforementioned swimming attire, Hmmm.

Anyway, that's it for today. See you tomorrow. End of line....
