Today was a quiet day. We both slept in and it almost took an act of Congress to get up when our alarm went off at 8 am. We decided last night, once we were most of the way trough a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio, that by setting the alarm, we could ensure that we got to the laundry before the rest of the mass of boats here awoke.
As it turns out, we were almost too late to get access to the machines in a timely manner. Fortunately, we only had to wait twenty minutes before four machines became available and we were able to do laundry for the first time in almost a month.
While the laundry spun, we took unlimited hot water showers in the marina. I even broke down and shaved.
By 11 am our laundry was clean and folded and we returned to the boat to put it all away. Once we were done we got to meet the people on the boat that we are sharing a mooring with. They have a 7 year old daughter name Hoku. She fell instantly in love with our weasels and then spent the balance of the afternoon hanging out on our boat playing with which ever weasel was awake.
Around 2 pm we Hoku crossed back over to her boat and Amy and I went in to the Riverdeck Cafe fr a couple of beers and some television. While we were there we ran in to Heinz and Monika off of Kobold. We've known them for a couple of years and it was nice to see them again. They were heading out as we arrived, so we made plans to have them visit us later this evening on our boat.
We were home by 5 pm and around 6, our Swiss neighbors came over and drank wine with us while I made home made onion rings. They stayed until 9 pm and then returned home. We finished off our drinks and then called it a day at the ultra late hour of 10 pm.
Tomorrow we brave public transportation in an effort to score groceries, whiskey and a new pair of shoes for me. Pray for us.
