Moving On (by Tom)

January 13, 2012 Monument Beach

We got a early start this morning in order to get over the shallow bar with at least half a tide. By 7 am we had cleared the entrance in the anchorage and entered the Exuma Sound. Wind was non-existent, so we motored slowly southward trailing a full compliment of fish whacking devices.

Seven hours later, we turned into Elizabeth Harbour (Georgetown) without so much as a single strike at all. Damn you dirty fishes!

By 3 pm we were in our usual spot off of the Monument Beach and we anchored in 8 feet of water near several boats we knew. The rest of the afternoon was spent settling in the boat.

Tomorrow morning we'll launch the dinghy and I'll head over to town for fuel, water and veggies and then we'll probably head in to the beach to see all of our friends. It's good to be back.

More to follow, end of line ....
