I woke up in time to catch the weather with the weasels and then we turned to making biscuits, hash browns and scrambled eggs. By the time I was done, the kitchen was in ruins, but the food was good.
After breakfast the weasels and I went into the cockpit to play while Amy tried to clean up the mess we had made earlier. We (me and the weasels) were glad to be out of the cleaning area as I fear dirty dishes and the weasels fear water. Whew, close one.
By the way, we all need to take a moment to say "GO DUKE !" after Amy's alma mater won the NCAA tournament last night. Woo-hoo!
Around 9:30 we took the dinghy into town and then walked out to the marine store located half a mile out of town. I needed some trolling lure hooks as well as some line for a couple of purses I made last week. They had everything we needed and 7 dollars later, we were on our way back to the dinghy.
We returned home by 11 and while Amy read a book, I fixed two fishing whacker lures that were in desperate need of repair. By noon I had the situation under control and Amy was done her book, so we headed in to the Breeze to surf the net and score a cold beer.
By 2 pm we were done and as I finished up my beverage, Amy ran across the street to get butter, eggs and salt. We returned home again and while Amy put away the groceries, I went for a swim. After swimming and a quick shower I started the oven and fired up another batch of pretzels. Once the were done, we did some dishes and then headed in for the 4 pm poker game.
We had 17 people show up to play, which is a record for here, and when the dust settled I came home with first place prize beating out Super G (George) in the finale. Sorry Super G, but you need to check that eye twitch.
As an aside, the 3 game poker season has come to an end here in Thompson Bay and I am proud to say I came away with a third, second and first place finish and the poker crown for this season is mine. Boo-ya!!
Anyhow, we got back home for the final time by 7 pm and after breaking down the dinghy I made four crab cakes for dinner. Amy turned in by 8:30 while I stayed up and watched American Pie 6 with Marley weasel. We both laughed our butts off at the crude, teen age humor and for some reason Amy thinks this should mean something to me, but I have not a clue what that is.
Tomorrow we are headed north to fish the drop off on the top end of Long Island.
