Regatta Time (by Tom)

So today was the mini Easter regatta here at Salt Pond. There were only 4 class C boats, but the event was well attended as some 300 people, both cruisers and islanders, showed up for the event.

In addition to the racing there was a DJ playing music and several booths selling both food and drink. After the three races, there was even a band that played well into the evening. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the rake and scrape band from our last trip as these guys were pretty good and did not suck at all.

We went up around 1 pm and ended up staying until almost 6 pm. I had several beers over the course of the afternoon while Amy got the chicken snack. For the record, the snack contained goo and as such, I did not participate.

The party was still rocking when we returned to the big boat. We were serenaded by the band until well after 9 pm.

The plan was to depart tomorrow, but now there is a poker games scheduled for 4 pm so we will probably stay for that and then leave on Wednesday. Stay tuned, more to follow.
