It's been about 2 weeks since my last update. Sorry, we've been in crisis mode here dealing with Amy's grandmother and her health issues. Amy and I are finally back together at the Buddy Fred's with our weasels and our boat after a pretty rough 5 weeks.
We arrived back yesterday after an 8 hour drive home from my brother's house in northern Maryland where I spent a week visiting family and also where Amy rode the train back to from New York and her grandmother.
My brother and I managed to catch a few world cup soccer matches and I have to ask, is it just me or does the rest of the world seem to be against the United States? I mean come on, back to back games where a referee makes a horrible call and takes a goal away from us? That FIFA regime truly sucks.
As an aside, it's no wonder soccer doesn't catch on in America. I mean come on, the players are in great shape and all, but what's with taking all those dives? Seriously, we already have enough lame ass actors in Hollywood, we don't need to import any more. Some of those guys ought to grow a pair and try playing for 90 minutes instead rolling around on the ground screaming "I'm dying! I'm dying!" every time anyone makes physical contact.
In any case, go USA go!
So with all of the travel and health issues and stuff, work on the boat kind of came to a screeching halt. Now that we're back home and Amy has most of the bugs worked out in New York, I hope we can get a little more focused on boat projects.
With that though in mind, this morning we removed both mattresses from the two forward state rooms and put them on the deck. Next, Amy applied soap and water and I got the hard bristle deck brush out and scrubbed. An hour later I was done and the mattresses were soggy. Hopefully the 100 degree plus weather we are currently experiencing will dry them out in no time.
Tomorrow we are going to get an early start to try an beat the heat as we remove the salon cushions for cleaning and then scrub the headliners through out the boat. Hopefully we'll be done before it gets too hot to work.
More to follow, end of line.
