Searching for Polypropelene (by Tom)

The weather dude changed the forecast this morning and it loos like well be here just a few days longer than expected. Latest intel suggests that we'll have another cold front push through on Monday night or Tuesday morning that will once again bring westerly winds somewhere beween 15 and 25 knots. Given that there is no real protection from the west down in the Raggeds, we have opted to hang out in Long Island for few more days.

After breakfast grilled cheesies, I donned my wetsuit and dinghied out to the nearby rocks just out from the Breeze and spent thirty minutes collecting three monster crabs, 1 Nassau grouper and 1 Mutton snapper. All in all, it was pretty productive hunting.

Back on board, I cleaned our catch with Amy's help and while she stored them in the frozen section, I got back in the water and finished scrubbing the bottom of the boat. An hour later the boat was clean and I was dirty. After a quick shower on the back deck, Amy made us a couple of rum smoothies that we enjoyed on the trampoline.

Around 3 pm, we picked up the anchor ad moved the big boat up to the north end of the harbour where we anchored in 6 feet of water, right off the beach. Once the boat was secured, we dinghied in to shore and then hiked north up the island to telephone pole #108. From #108, there is a mile long trail that leads through the bush and over to the windward side of the island and a small secluded beach we call plastic beach because of all the plastic trash that washes up on the sand. It's really kind of sad to see.

Anyhow, our trip over was to find some polypropelene line to replace the hand holds on our dinghy. It took all of 5 minutes to find enough rope and then we retraced our steps back across the island to the main highway. A passing car stopped and gave us a ride back to the dinghy landing and we returned home.

Around 5 pm, we loaded back into the dinghy and headed down the harbour to a cruiser's happy hour and bonfire just off the deck at Long Island Breeze. Abut 10 or 12 boats of people showed up and maybe 10 locals as well. We hung out for an hour and a half and then got hungry so we returned to the big boat and I made steak fajitas for dinner.

Amy turned in shortly there after, but the boy weasels and I stayed up and shared a rum drink and watched Terminator 4. We all enjoyed the movie, but we missed Arnold. I always thought he'd be back.

To bed at 9:45. See you tomorrow.
