Sewage Beat Dow (by Tom)

The wind howled and howled last night. It was so bad that I ended up sleeping in the salon with one of our US cell phones turned on so that I could use it's built in alarm function to wake up every 40 minutes and check to make sure we were staying put. It was in fact a pretty shitty night, but our new Rocna anchor was up to the challenge and when the sun finally came over the horizon we were still sitting in the same place that we started at. Whew.

Unfortunately, once the day broke and the rest of the crew woke up and had breakfast, I had to tackle the most evil of boat jobs known to man, the head. Actually our head is working fine, but the macerator which without being too graphic sends the waste over board after grinding it into small particles wasn't working correctly. Since I just replaced the macerator in July I suspected the problem was some sort of blockage in the lines that connect the whole system together.

I'll spare you the sorted details, but in the end I got everything sorted and I am glad to say our sewage disposal system is back online. I hate plumbing work and I still fear sewage. Any more sewage issues on this trip and I made need serious therapy time.

Anyhow, once I was done working I cleaned all of my tools and my work area with bleach, varnish remover and any other nasty evil chemical I could ind on board to ensure that we were living in a "poo" free zone. Did I mention that I fear sewage?

By the time I took a shower and changed clothes it was approaching happy hour. I joined Amy and the weasel tribe in the cockpit and we shared a nice bottle of Argentinian white as we watched the sun go down. Dinner was yet more Mahi this time done up in super secret sauce recipe number 3. It was tasty, but I may have let it go just a minute or two too long on the grill and I thought it was dry. Oh well, sorry team.

Post dinner it was the standard weasel battle royale before retiring to our cabin to read books at 7:45. Mila opted to sleep with us tonight instead of her brothers and we all called it a day by 8:30 pm. Tomorrow we head down to Marsh Harbour to do laundry and get fuel before we jump off Monday or Tuesday for Eleuthera and points further south.

Stay tuned, more to follow.
