Sunday Times (by Tom)

This morning I awoke around 4 am to find that the long absent trade winds had finally returned. As soon as it was light, we upped anchor and raced back over to our usual spot just off the beach at the Monument. It's been pretty crowded in our "hood" of late which is why I wanted to get an early jump, but we were able to reclaim our usual spot without any trouble.

On the way across the harbour, I called George on Sequel to see if he wanted to play some ball. He was up for it so we called Bruce on Different Drummer and a game was set for 12:30. I spent the rest of the morning sewing two more purses which are shown side right.

At the appointed time Amy and I headed into the beach to whack volleyballs around. In all, we played 8 games of 2 on 2 and by the time it was over we were all beat. We're planning on leaving G'town the day after tomorrow so I'm trying to squeeze all of the ball in I can.

After playing we hung out under the palm trees having a beer or two with friends. Frank (from Fat Chance), the guy who helped me bring Dream Catcher north last season, showed up and he hung out with Amy and I trading insults and telling stories. Sundays are always a lot of fun on volleyball beach and this one was no exception.

We finally drug ourselves away and returned home around 6 pm. Dinner was mutton snapper fingers served over a crisp salad with your choice of baked potato or garlic bread. We finished off the night with a quick swim and a rum drink on the trampoline before calling it a day around 9:30.
