The Dark Lord (by Tom)

We are currently anchored behind Fergusson Point in Elizabeth Harbour, Great Exuma. We sailed here this morning from Thompson Bay by way of Black Rocks where I spent a little time hunting for dinner. In case you were wondering, I scored three lobsters, a 12 pound Nassau grouper and 2 medium sized Hogfish. The crew will not be starving.

The last week past in pretty much the same manner as before, with us moving the big boat every day to find protection from the westerly winds. I know I've been bitching about the weather for the last couple of weeks and you're probably sick of hearing about it, so I will only say that it hasn't gotten any better and leave it at that.

While stuck in Salt Pond, we made a couple of land based trips out and about. We hitchhiked down to Max's conch bar one day and another time we walked a couple of miles out and back to a private little ocean side beach where we had an impromptu picnic lunch and a swim.

I am also glad to report that the Long Island Breeze is still in operation, so maybe they have gotten a handle on what ever financial issues they may have been having.

We decided yesterday to head back to G'town with the one day of easterly wind that has been predicted for the last 7 days so that we could at least be stuck somewhere with volleyball. I suspect we'll be here for several days as during the trip over our depth sounder quit working. There are only a handful of pieces of gear that we cannot do without and this is one of them. Consequently the area of operation or our mother ship will be limited until I can get a handle on whats wrong with our bottom detecting mechanism.

As an aside, our sailing instruments are of the Autohelm brand, which is now owned by the most unholy of the unholiest, the evilest of the evil, the dark lord of electronics himself, Raymarine, so I am not at all surprised that it broke. I hate you Raymarine, I hate you so much.
