We left the park around 9 am this morning and sailed about 20 miles north to the lee of Shroud Cay. We were anchored alone behind the southern end of the island in about 6 feet of water by noon. Amy whiled away the day reading her books while I got in a final hunting outing before we leave for the states.
Shroud Cay is actually still in the park, so I dinghied over to Norman's Cay, about two miles away. I hunted for about three hours and came home with 6 conch, 2 medium sized groupers and 1 mega mutton snapper. All told it was a pretty good take.
By 5 pm I had my catch cleaned and stored and while I took a shower Amy pounded some conch meat flat so that I could fry up some cracked conch and french fries. After dinner, we sat in the cockpit and talked about what we each want to do first when we get back to the states. I think our current choices are ice cream for Amy and a decent steak for me.
Tomorrow we head over to Nassau for fuel and then it's a 40 hour run straight back to the US. See you soon.
