The Wind Blows (by Tom)

We are still anchored behind Fergusson Point because the wind continues to blow out of the west. The weather dude said this morning that we would have three different fronts pass through G'town this week, each bringing the wind around to the west for a day. I'm not sure what's up with the weather, but it definitely both sucks and blows.

I met up with the guys this morning to play ball on the beach and the games were pretty good despite the high winds. Afterwords, I went swimming to remove the four layers of beach I brought home attached to my body. Amy and I made pretzels around noon and they were most tasty. We are only another batch or two away from perfecting our recipe.

Around 3 pm we dinghied back over to the beach to hang out with our friends and then at 4:30 we went up to St. Francis for cracked conch and poker. We had 53 people show up and when the dust settled Amy and I both ended up at the final table. I was pretty short stacked, but managed to finish in the money (5th) and Amy wound up finishing second. Of course between the entry fee and dinner an drinks, we ended up netting only 3 dollars, but it was fun never the less.

We hung out with Eric and Susan (Elysia) for a post game drink and then returned to the mother ship around 10:30. More to follow, end of line.
